The day started when Mr Hind told us to imagine that we have a massive hole in the ceiling and water is pouring down it. He asked to look in the Yellow Pages and find a plumber. Everyone went for the most colourful, biggest and more attractive ones. We discussed that if the add is bigger than it gets into your eyes more, and if it is colourful than it stands out from the other adds. The company wants their ad to stand out so that people buy their service. Company's also wanted to have their ad at the top left corner because that is the spot where people start to read. There were some small and boring adds which no one picked because they look unprofessional and cheap. We all draw a plumbing comapany ad, here is mine:
Two people collected them and chose the top three. Fortunately mine was in the top three, which I was surprised about. After we discussed the ads we looked at some posters. Also we draw four fast food delivery service ads. Here are mine:
I had to choose the best one and I choose the last one. I draw it again to improve it and make it better quality.
Then we got into groups of three. We choose to do James's one because we liked it the most. We started to copy his add into the computer through Adobe Photoshop. Unfortunately the internet wasn't working so the add quality was very bad because we wanted to add some images to our ad. I found it a bit hard to make the ad because I haven’t used a lot of Adobe Photoshop before which meant I didn’t have a lot of experience on it, same as James and Michael. Here is our finished add:
We showed our ad to the class and they said that we have a lot of colours in our ad in which I agree. I really liked one group's add because it looked very professional because the person knew how to operate Adobe Photoshop. In the future lessons I would like to learn more about Adobe Photoshop and campaigning.
